Плюсы: I have stopped at many different hotels over the last thirty years, I can honestly say this was the BEST experience I have ever had. The hospitality and personal touch shown by Rosa and her son Alberto went way beyond what one would expect. The grounds of the former farmhouse including the orange grove and the beautiful flowers provide a perfect welcome, then you have Rosa's home cooking, a breakfast from heaven all hand crafted by Rosa, with the freshly squeezed orange, meats and cheeses, home baked cake/tart, fresh fruit, all presented to 5 star quality. The rooms are immaculate, and outdoor the swimming pool was a welcome shield from the sun. Despite our requirement for a 5.30am departure on our final day, Rosa and Alberta were up to provide us with our full breakfast. Location wise, a 6km jaunt from the impressive Viana do Castello, where a visit to the 'Primavera Restaurant' is a must for lunch.

Плюсы: It was overall a fantastic stay. Alberto and Rosa were attentive hosts, and every breakfast was a little feast! Lots of attention to detail, warmth and a charming location make la Quinta do Valle do Monte a very special retreat for couples or families.

Плюсы: The property is beautiful and very old works Portugal. Nicely maintained and decorated. The location was close to Viana and beaches. Quiet, gated,scenic. The breakfasts were delicious with eggs , meats, cheeses, great breads, fresh juice. Dona Rosa and her son were more than gratitude hosts. I felt as if I was visiting family. Loved it!

Плюсы: A lovely old style house with comfortable rooms, gardenand orchards and a good sized pool. Our hosts could not have been kinder making us very welcome with lovely eat treats and a great breakfast. We had to leave very early to catch a plane and they provided a packed breakfast for us to take. This is a veritable oasis in the outer reaches of the town with good road access in all directions and a 10 -15 minute drive to the beach, and town. There is a restaurant/ bar serving food and 2 large supermarkets within a 5 minute walk.

Минусы: The location is fine if you have a car and are happy to drive mostly everywhere including further up the valley for some peaceful walks but there is nowhere for pleasant evening strolls directly from the house.

Плюсы: The room was spacious with a small sitting area, very comfortable. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a selection of food to suit most tastes. The location was good for visiting various places. We left the car at the hotel secure car park and travelled by train to Porto and Viana do Castell. The small stion is five minutes walk from the hotel, with very helpful staff.

Минусы: You need to let the reception know your approximate time of arrival in order to have the gates open. After the first time you have your own key.

Плюсы: Everything was spotlessly clean. The pool and the tennisarea was nice. Short distance to Viana do Castello.

Минусы: It was very hot and the rooms didn't have aircondition. The hotel has a lot of stairs everywhere -inside and out (also to the pool) - but no railings to hold on to, which was a problem for my mother. On the webpage it says that its handicap friendly. This is really not true, eventhough the host was kind to change my parents room to one on the ground floor.

Плюсы: The Quinta is set in beautiful gardens with a lovely swimming pool, fountains, and places to relax. Our ‘casa’ was luxurious and had every convenience.

Минусы: Absolutely nothing. You’re best to have a car in this area of Portugal but we managed 3 days without one. It’s short bus or taxi to Viana. Breakfast was delicious each morning, although perhaps a slightly earlier start than 9am. But you get into the relaxing swing of things.

Плюсы: HIGHLY RECOMMEND this property! Lovely grounds, helpful and friendly staff, comfortable and spacious room, fun pool table and relaxing area. It is close to the beach, close to small towns nearby, and Kira the black lab is extremely friendly and welcoming.

Минусы: The only complaint we have for the entire stay was the beds were very firm, but the rest of the property makes up for it.

Плюсы: The hostess’s welcome is kind and VERY (too?) detailed, but a tad too directive and overbearing. At times it makes you feel like a little child who needs to be taught house rules. Too much content is imparted upon you, whether you find it useful or need it at all in the first place. The room we had was a “suite” and thus featured a little anteroom with a kitchenette hidden in a large closet. The bedroom itself was nice, spacious and well appointed, although in that category, the bed could have been at least queen size —and wasn’t. The real downside is that there was NO WINDOW! The walk-in door was glass but needed to be curtained against the heat of the blazing afternoon sun (and the passing other guests!), and there was a minuscule vasistas around the walkway to the bathroom, but no window at all in the bedroom itself, which made it cavernous and claustrophobic. The room was not in the main building. Not one free power wall socket in sight! Don’t those hoteliers know that their guests have smartphones, tablets, cameras, portable computers, and all manners of assorted electrical appliances that need regular recharging? I had to unplug a lamp in the anteroom to recharge our things. No air conditioning, except for a very small unit in the bathroom, useless to cool the bedroom. The only appliance available was one of those column-type fans that worked more or less OK, except that it was on a 2-hour timer that forced me to get up several times during the night to get it started again! Unacceptable in that price range. The WiFi worked... until it went down, and couldn’t be restarted until the morning. You must avoid this place if you depend on a fast WiFi connection, for example for work purposes. (Read rest of review below)

Минусы: The bathroom was good and in general well provided, but there are no red and blue markings on the taps, so you don’t know which way is hot and you’re kept wondering for quite a while as hot water takes that long to come on... Shower products are in quantities adequate, yet not overly generous, but strangely only shampoo and a strange little plastic bottle labeled “body lotion”... but no obvious shower gel in sight! Had to use an old one taken from previous hotel. Finally, the breakfast is good but nothing to really write home about as the hostess seemed to think: for example, no smoked salmon or other fish, eggs scrambled but not otherwise cooked, etc. AND you cannot have it before 9am, which is again unacceptable for an establishment in that price range: not all guests are on vacation, and even those who are may need to have an early start now and then! One last word to the wise: hotel owners and managers sometimes reply to guest advice and critique, and sometimes quite sharply. Remember then that I have no vested interest in saying good or not so good things about the places I stay at, while owners and managers do have a vested interest in selling you theirs products and services...

Минусы: There was a bit of damp in our bedroom. The breakfast was very fresh and healthy, just could’ve done with a few more local pastries, I have a sweet tooth!

Плюсы: Absolutely gorgeous retreat - the Quinta is a huge property with tennis court, pool, gardens, and lots of places to sit and enjoy the beautiful setting. Wonderful breakfast. Very kind host.

Плюсы: Really beautiful building and immaculately maintained grounds and swimming pool. Very convenient for Viana but we preferred using the bikes to explore the fantastic beaches along this stretch of coast using the scenic trail. The kitchen out-building is very useful for those not wanting to drive to a restaurant, just stock up on food from the local shop, open the wine and eat in the garden beside the pool. The breakfast is legendary.

Плюсы: Beautiful fruit trees and garden. Lots of seating for guests, lounge chairs by the pool with a view of the ocean. Very cute kitchen to cook in if your staying in. We had homemade preserves with breakfast every morning, it was so delicious.

Плюсы: The hosts were fantastic and made our 4 day stay perfect. The breakfast was amazing, with freshly prepared and locally grown fruit, homemade jams, eggs if wanted, fresh coffee, it was just great. The building is beautiful. As we travelled in October we didn't use the pool due to the weather but we will definitely return in the future, the pool and outside area were beautifully kept, with a bbq area and a kitchen for guests to use. It is in a quiet location but within easy reach of the beach and Viana de Castelo which has shops and historic places to visit.

Плюсы: Не большой, семейный, современный отель, в самом центре. Есть своя крытая парковка, прямо в отеле, всего за 6е! Персонал-выше всяких похвал! Номер с балконом - очень хорош! Завтрак скромный, но тоже не плохо. Очень советуем этот отель, точно понравится!

Плюсы: A repeat visit to a friendly hotel which is close to the central avenue of Viana. I liked the breakfast and welcoming staff. All the equipment in the room was working and satisfactory including the heating, which was needed this time.

Плюсы: The service was fantastic! Eduardo assisted us with the check-in and helpful tips about tourist attractions and restaurants. The rooms are modern and very clean and the beds were comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay!

Плюсы: Конечно, захватывающий вид из окна. Хороший завтрак, игристое вино, которое нам встретилось только здесь. Вода в бассейне в первую половину дня прохладная, но в целом позагорать и расслабиться можно.

Плюсы: Замок переделанный в гостиницу. Потрясающий вид из окон! Дух захватывает! Отличный номер: просторный и светлый, с двумя французскими балконами. Хорошее чистое белье, удобные кровати. Немного маловат санузел, но это вовсе не критично. Добротные завтраки: сыры, ветчины, йогурты, фрукты, омлет, бекон, тосты, выпечка, орехи, сухофрукты, мюсли, молоко, соки, кофе, чай и шампанское - все шведский стол. И все под классическую музыку с роскошным видом и возможностью выйти на террасу или в сад. Персонал вежлив и услужлив. Знаете, даже не хочется сдавать вам это место:) оно прекрасно!:)

Плюсы: The view was amazing, which was the main reason we decided to stay at the hotel for one night. Staff were super friendly. Breakfast was nice. Not many people so we enjoyed the quietness. Water pressure was very good. The interior was unique and beautiful. Exterior is superb as well. Location is great; only a few minutes walk from the escalator. The balcony was spacious with a table and chairs.

Минусы: No free water. Some ants in the bathroom. Green gate to the Santa Luzia Sanctuary was closed on our departure day, so we had to jump off the stone fence. There weren't too many electric sockets in the room.

Плюсы: Stunning location, offered superior room with balcony overlooking basilica, able to play grand piano, food fabulous, service genuine and kind. Room a wonderful surprise. Great wine at good prices. Simply gorgeous. Ample parking for road travellers.

Плюсы: Шикарная Пусада с панорамным видом на город и главную достопримечательность - Собор, отель полностью оправдывает свои 5 звёзд, и терраса с видом, и персонал, услужливость, этот отель впринципе оправдал нашу поездку во Вьяну-ди-каштелу, сам городок нас совершенно не впечатлил, а аот из отеля уходить не хотелось. Постояльцы тоже соответствуют, богатые европейские пенсионеры. Очень советую для спокойного красивого отдыха. Завтраки тоже шикарные.

Минусы: Из недостатков могу только отметить, что на машине ехать из центра города 20 минут на машине, но за вид надо платить, на фуникулере быстрее буквально 5 минут езды и 10 пешком но он работает только до 19:30. Ну и номерной фонд чуть потрёпан для этой цены, надо бы делать косметический ремонт.

Плюсы: It was a very positive surprise. The welcome was very friendly and we benefited from an upgrade to a large bedroom which has two large windows. It's very well located and offers a good breakfast.

Минусы: We liked everything. It would have been nice to have had a kettle in the room but the very nice receptionist provide some cups and hot water.

Плюсы: Incredibly friendly staff. The hotel is beautiful. Location amazing and breakfast lovely also. The only thing is that we booked a twin room but they had none left so had to pay extra for an upgrade. In fairness, we only booked earlier that day. Would still highly recommend.

Плюсы: Вокзал в метрах 100, было удобно сразу быть в гостинице, выйдя из поезда. Достопримечательности в шаговой доступности. Отличный прием, очень доброжелательный сервис. Хороший завтрак. Интересный дизайн под старину, зданию около 500 лет. Письменный стол и холодильник в номере. Есть вода бесплатная (на столе) и платная (в холодильнике, вода - это единственное, что есть в минибаре/холодильнике). Достойное удобное место по доступной цене.

Минусы: Розеток около кровати нет. Щумновато, но это центр

Плюсы: Great location, friendly staff, and very good breakfast (opt to squeeze your own juice as the pre-squeezed orange juice is from concentrate). Very good value for money.

Плюсы: Great restaurant attached to the hotel. Our waiter, Hugo(?) was excellent and the food was phenomenal. The receptionists were also very helpful and lovely. The room was clean and comfortable.

Плюсы: Very nice place, quiet and clean. Warm and friendly welcome by Catarina, with all the explanations you need to discover the area. A lot of space in the room (vine room), and nice breakfast as well.

Плюсы: It's a very beautiful and quiet setting, the bed is probably one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in.

Минусы: The breakfast was good, but small quantity. If you happen to not like one of the items then you'll be hungry. Exzample, 2 very thin slices of cheese per person, one thin slice of ham and 1 small slice of marmalade. If you do'nt like any of these items (I don't like ham) so I was stuck with 2 minute slices of cheese and a tiny bit of marmalade. While we were there the internet did not work at any time, and the tv didn't work either, so it wasn't very possible to just chill out to watch a film in the end of a sightseeing day. We requested if there were some dvds we could watch but the only solution we were given was to hang out on the common room. We had taken a weekend to hang out with each other and chill so it wasn't an option for us. On the last day, there was no electricity in our flat, so we couldn't shower. When checking the lectrical board it became apparent that the wiring was old and it seemed a bit unsafe. None of these things are the end of the world, but for the price they charge, I would expect a little bit more professionalism.

The breakfast gets to your door every morning, also option for vegetarians. The house is cleaned properly every day. Big thanks to Gabriel and Katherine for their hospitality. There are several walking trails near the property.

As a pilgrim on the camino, it was wonderful to find the hotel actually on the route! Your stay includes a visit to the chocolate museum and a drink from the café. I had a chocolate cocktail!

Плюсы: Rooms, designs, theme, staff, welcome drink, bed (size and comfy), location, breakfast - everything was amazing! Excellent stay along the Camino Portugues (Coastal route) and well worth the slightly higher price point.

Breakfast was superb and all good quality . 10/10 is not enough!!!❤️

Плюсы: The room is very clean, with a comfortable bed. Big and clean bathroom. The guy from reception very nice, he didn't speak English too good, but he tried in all the languages he knew to tell us all about the town. They have a nice garden, where you can relax.

Минусы: The location is not quite good. We were on bikes and it was ok for us, but walking is like 20 minutes from center.

Плюсы: The staff are among the nicest people you can meet. Very helpful, they do their best to look after your best interests. As soon as we arrived, the owner quickly helped is find a place to eat despite it being quite late for lunch. He left a great impression on us and we will surely come back as soon as we can.

Плюсы: The staff was very friendly, I had a reservation for a standard bedroom and they switched me to a renovated one because it was free at the moment. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast had a view to the little river and the fields, super relaxing!

Плюсы: All the amenities provided by the hotel were excellent. Dinner and breakfast were buffet style with a wide and plentiful range of food to cater for all dietary requirements. The rooms are large and comfortable with great views, we were on the fifth floor. Using the garage adds that little security when travelling with a full car. The staff, in all areas, were pleasant and courteous and helpful. Altogether a restful stay.

Плюсы: Паркинг есть и бесплатный около отеля. Платный, как я понял - подземный. Если есть места перед входом, то платить не надо.

Минусы: Не заселили в 13:40. 20 минут ждали. Заселили РОВНО в 14 :) Мне лысому в бассейне всё равно впарили шапочку за 5 евро. Ну не нужна лысому шапочка! ))) Из водных процедур только бассейн, ничего больше нет. А тренажёров много

Минусы: Long way from town. We drove in each day. There was a power cut and we were trapped in the lift!

Плюсы: The room- nice size. Excellent shower. The back patio and view were such a treat.

Минусы: European style breakfast isn’t enough protein for a day on the Camino. Would have loved to have an option for something with protein- eggs, or at least yogurt. Bread with jam and cheese, orange juice and coffee or tea were offered.And what looked to be flan. However the fresh fruit was delicious- such good melon!

Плюсы: A very nice location, in the historical center. Relatively quiet, tho' with some noise from a bakery across the street. It gets quiet by around 9 pm, so it isn't a big deal. Comfortable bed. Very clean room. Friendly staff although they aren't very present, because they also are busy running a restaurant down stairs.

Минусы: The shower was not as hot as I like it. It was warm enough to be okay, but a little disappointing. The fact that there is seldom anyone at the front desk is not great, although you can always get someone's attention by going down to the restaurant. And the people running the place ARE friendly and helpful.

Минусы: В номерах tapete и filigrana шумно, так как на террасе работает охлаждающая установка. Это критично для тех, у кого сон чувствительный, как у меня. Персонал по моей просьбе меня переселил в другой номер. Так что эта ситуация была разрешена. Но вообще звукоизоляция в отеле не очень. Завтрак континентальный, не буфет. И он - углеродная бомба. Хотя и вкусная. Очень хотелось бы чайник, если не в номер, то хотя бы в лобби. В этом есть логика, так как пансионат недорогой, пользуется популярностью в том числе и у людей, идущих caminho. Вечером очень хочется чайку в номере

Плюсы: When we found people which worked there they where super friendly. The rooms where clean, cute wnd comfortable. The City was beautiful and the hotel is in the middle of the city center :-D

Минусы: At the reception was verry often noone. It was hard to find people to ask questions.

Плюсы: owner is a lovely with a good sense of humour. good location in centre of town.

Минусы: There was a big dent in the wall and I didn;t find the duvet comfortable.

Плюсы: The location is great, in the heart of Viana do Castello. We got a spacious deluxe room with a view of the Basillica. Pastelaria Manuel Natario is right across the street- hot Bolas de Berlim at 11:30 every day!

Минусы: Walls are thin, we could hear our neighbors very clearly. Reception was only really open in the afternoon for checkin, we didn't realize that we could checkout in the restaurant after breakfast. No elevators.

Плюсы: The accommodation is in a very good location in the old centre but in a quiet street, it's also quite close to the train- and busstation. The owner and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Allthough the breakfast wasn't big, the quality was really good, everything was very fresh and tasty. I also had a light meal in the restaurant that belongs to the accommodation and what I ordered was also good quality!

Минусы: The walls of teh room are a bit thin so I could hear the neighbours sometimes but it wasn't really a problem.

Минусы: Номер не соответствовал фотографиям. Был сломан душ, не было мыла. Везде плесень! И самое главное, что не было Окна! Точнее окно было, но оно выходило в холл.

Плюсы: its clean, right in the middle of the town center, staff are really friendly although they dont speak english, and has fast free wireless internet connection... prices are very cheap.

Минусы: i think an English speaking staff would make it perfect ....

Плюсы: Friendly staff and great central location. Nice comfortable room and breakfast ok with cake. A visit up to the Basilica is reccomended,fantastic views from there and even better if you venture up the Dome.

Минусы: Some street noise may be heard if you have a room at the front.

Плюсы: The location was definitely the best part of this hotel - it is a quick walk from the train station (which is in a lovely part of town itself) and located within the bounds of the medieval center of town. There are lots of sights, museums, and restaurants in the area. It's about a 20-minute walk to Praia Norte, but it's an easy walk so we didn't mind. The table service during breakfast was also very nice - felt like being waited on in a restaurant!

Минусы: We left the window open overnight and the street cleaners woke us up - not the hotel's fault, but just something to be mindful of if your room overlooks the straight as ours did.

Плюсы: The young lady on the reception desk was very friendly and welcoming and helpful in suggesting places to visit during our stay. The room was clean, simply furnished and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was also very adequate. Free public parking is available a short distance away but this needs to be timed for late afternoon. There is also a nearer underground car park.

Минусы: Suggest that it is not worth paying more for a room with a river view as one has to strain the neck to see it. Our room with the supposed river view also incurred a lot of traffic noise.

Плюсы: The hotel had a great style and a comfortable room. We arrived during a festival which meant the street outside was loud but we were able to use the air con so we could still sleep. Good breakfast selection.

Минусы: Noisy at night from street sounds. It was a weekend and bars must have been open very late!

Плюсы: Both João and Christina went out of their way to make it an amazing stay. João walked across the street to the parking lot to find us and get us from the car to the hotel, and later, on his own time he came back to tell us that we had left our lights on. We arrived in the middle of a three day festival and the staff made sure we got the best out of it.

Плюсы: A beautiful building and gardens, with a reasonable sized pool. Comfortable rooms with good facilities and v.pleasant outside spaces. Excellent buffet breakfast in a lovely room.

Плюсы: Unique experience really. We stayed in the apartment #1 for the family for 4-5 people. It was beyond our expectation - great atmosphere, spacious and very, very comfortable. The adjacent territory of this accommodation is amazing - impressive landscaping, parking insight. This place clearly has historic heritage! If you travel by a car with family, this is the best choice ever - at least it was for us. Very friendly personnel. Lastly - breakfast! Not Sofitel range of choices but everything was delicious and fresh. Great serving of the tables. If we are ever around, we will definitely select this location.

Минусы: Room didnt have seats on the veranda. Only had one comfortable armchair for 2 people. Carpet in the barthroom was dirty and worn. Only bath tub with a shower attachment. Terrace decking was broken. Not a four star hotel. Spa was dirty. Not a very good breakfast. Only a coffee urn with bitter warm liquid in it.

Плюсы: A very nice hotel, with beautiful views over the Atlantic.The room and breakfast were excellent. Great promenade out in front and just a few minutes drive into the historic center and across the river to a beautiful beach.
