Hotel Galanthus & Spa

The staff are all very friendly and always seemed happy to help or advise. They all seem hard working and really give the hotel a warm welcoming feel. The food at breakfast and dinner was great. Good variety with interesting choices available each evening. The chef was attentive with my allergy too and was happy to come into the dining area and explain what was safe and what I should avoid. The prices for drinks were very fair and staff at the bar were always friendly and attentive. The room was a good enough size and very clean. No trace of dirt to be found in the bathroom either. Cleaning staff did a great job every day even though we were living quite messily. The safe in the room was an ample size to keep a good number of valuables in too. All in All for what we paid it was good value for money.

Some spa facilities were neglected and not working properly (one shower broken, jets on another not working, no ice, no thermometer or timer in the sauna etc.). Due to the deficiency in the spa upkeep this meant there was no way to cool off really after the hot treatments which is not ideal. Also the spa is only open from 1700 to 2230 which is poor when it is not even staffed when open. The beds were very hard with a strange choice of pillows/cushions that were not too comfy. The showers were OK but we couldn't adjust the head angle so ended up soaking the bathroom. No kettles or tea/coffee making provided unless you have a deluxe room which is very disappointing. I also thought €2 for a game of pool on a battered and off level table is a rip off with battered cues too. Should definitely be free for what it is, and the same with the football table. I also think €10 a day is a lot for parking. We parked on the street outside instead for free, as did most guests by the looks of it. Even on the snowiest days it only took 10 mins to clear the car and get off, definitely not worth €10 a day to avoid.
