Good location

Very old. Very dim room.

Centrally located and easy access to public transportation and nearby shops. Quick access to town center and walking distance to all nearby attractions. Front and back entrance to hotel.

Bathroom not clean. Mildew in shower. Drain breathing and needed to keep basin plug closed and vent closed. Wrote a letter to reception and hopefully they understood English. No luck. Clean bedding only every 2nd day. Our room . Was facing the inside of the hotel. Noisy late night and unpleasant until 4am. Called reception at 3am.they sent 2 people to come and check. They said noise was from outside the Hotel and nothing they could do. Language barrier a big problem when you are English. Make sure you have a translation app on your phone

The hotel in general was okay, but it's a little dated and it has poor lighting. The water pressure was perfect, but the water was slow to drain. The location is very good. Not too far from the subway. It's also close to various restaurants and shopping areas.

The lighting was extremely dim to where it seemed like it was later in the day all day. No natural lighting. The room in general was dated. There weren't many outlets to plug in your devices and the charge was weak.

Convenient location to the walking street shopping

Difficult to communicate with the staff due to language barrier; Says one thing but means another thing. Instructions were unclear. Booked a tour from the hotel that was supposed to end at 4:30 but ended rather at 12:30. Our supposedly English speaking tour guide ended going to a different group which left us with a driver that understands or speaks zero English. Complained to the concierge but nothing was done, there was no point of explaining because the guy kept saying we can go there ourselves... just take taxi. My point was we didn’t get what we paid for ..saw 2 out 4 sites.

Poor cleanliness, room carpet was dirty, lobby furniture & carpets should be changed, bathroom shower was not working properly, no toiletries (however it was mentioned & i have to buy my own lotion & hair comb), refrigerator was unplugged, locker/safe was missing.

Internal window dirty and too dark. Toilet flushing bad. Door bad... carpet looks old and dirty. Should use wood panel. Lighting very dark in and out of the room.

1) during the 3 weeks of our stay in China, including very remote regions, this hotel was the only one where we encountered a cockroach in the room. 2) there is a glass window instead of a wall between the room and the toilet. In a two person room! Absolutely no intimacy. 3) prepare your credit card as the hotel is going to freeze a a whole lot of your budget. First, they blocked the payment on my card before our arrival, which was completely ok. But they wouldn't just charge it, they "cancelled" the blockade and had us pay for the room + the deposit in another payment, but the thing is, they won't separate the room charge from the deposit, so effectively it is just another temporary blocade. Returning the deposit means "cancelling" the payment again and charging your card with a final payment during the check out. Of course after "cancelling" the blocade actually won't withdrew for some time, because it is how the banking system works, so prepare to have more than the TRIPLE cost of the room blocked on your account. This is why I recommend using credit card, not your normal operational card, but after all I won't recommend staying there anyway.

Location is probably the only good thing about this hotel. In the middle of the centre of Shanghai, easy access to shops and eateries.

The hotel is old and the renovation is very outdated. The pictures of the hotel doesn't reflect how old the facilities are. It doesn't do the modern world Shanghai very much justice. Everything, including facilities within rooms would just about meet basic standards and that's it. We stayed in a family suite so our room was already in the higher levels. I cannot imagine how residents were able to sleep in lower floors as there were sounds of renovation works OVERNIGHT for the whole night, for a few of the nights during our stay and it seemed to come from the ground floor of the hotel. The windows of the hotel are singly glazed, meaning that it is completely not sound proof. There are by far many better hotels in the same area for just a little bit more. Staff could not speak very good English, and the check in and check out procedures were rather disorganised. We originally planned to stay for two weeks at the hotel but did not do so and moved hotels after a week and did not extend our stay. This hotel is not good money for value in terms of comfort, unless otherwise of course...you are just looking for a conveniently located bed on your trip to Shanghai...

It is a good location. Close to the subway and close to the bund.

It was dirty, outdated, smelly. For almost $100 usd it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and was counting the days until I got to leave.

the staffs were rude. Apart from it especially a staff in concierge was trying to increase the day tour price for his convenient. Seemed as the bedsheets wasnt changed. The toilet was disgusting and smelly. I was disappointed with my breakfast. Minimum English breakfast choices. Lack of cleanliness in everything starts from room to food. A hotel with less safety for a woman who travels on her own, at middle of the night around 2am while I was in deep sleep I was shocked by huge knocking on my door by a mad drunken guy and was speaking loud in Chinese. Bad experience ever

The only advantage of the hotel is the location. 5 min walk to Nanjing road and 10 min to the Bund

It was incredibly dirty, seems they vacuumed carpets at the time when the hotel was open. Lights inside the room were also dark, so it was impossible to stay there. Bathroom was dirty as well. There were two teams of staff at the reception, one team was friendly, however another one talked with us and answered our questions in a rude way. What’s more important, they took 1000 RMB from my credit card without informing me at all, and it’s been 2,5 weeks but till now I HAVENT RECEIVED MY MONEY. Be careful and think 100times before choosing this property to stay at

there is no room service 24 hours + I spoke with the room service manager for the ice cubes and refused to send them to the room because they were free so I went to bring myself what I wanted and he was talking to me like a policeman

Location of the hotel is ideal, but that’s the ONLY plus point of this hotel.

Where should I start? - The staff weren’t serviced mind at all, I asked them to facilitate me a guide to give me a tour around Shanghai and they said 2000RMB for 8 hour, Insane!!! I guess the concierge add their own commission here becoz it’s him who provide service to call for guide. - It was a long day, I asked hotel staff where can I get foot massage, they suggest me to go building on the left around 50 meter away. I asked them is it safe? They replied “MAYBE”. Thanx God I asked, how could u suggest something to someone if you are not SURE that it safe? - The room is old, not so clean. - Pillow, Mattress, Towel were poor quality.

I stayed for 4 nights and this was my 3rd visit to this hotel. On my second night I dropped strawberry juice on the sheets and when i came back to my room i had received a bill of 270 rmb to which i was told that its for dirtying the sheets which cannot be cleaned. So i went to the reception and told them to give me the sheets so that i could clean them myself and if i failed i would pay even though that was really unprofessional. Anyway i cleaned the sheets with in five minutes. So this shows that this hotel is so cheap that it would make its guest clean the bed sheets due to the housekeeping’s inability and laziness. I think it was embarassing for me to clean the bed sheets as i am sure in any other hotel, be it better or a lower grade one this would never be the case. I created a huge scene to which all i was getting was sorry for which i truly didnt care about. I asked for the manager but he did not have the courtesy or the guts to face his upset guests. After i told them that i will tell everyone who steps in this hotel about how they treat their guests, they offered me their petty breakfast to which i straight away said no. Anyway, in the end i had to ask for a compensation and got it even though it should have had been way better (a better room). I am a regular customer of this hotel as whenever i come to shanghai i stay at charms and as always it has been a disappointment due to their staff’s rude behaviour and poor service. The only reason why i think everyone goes to this hotel is because of its awesome location and value for money. Trust me otherwise no one would step into this hotel. I am truly disappointed this time because they took disappointment it to another level.

Beware Hotel is in great location. The pros end about there. Yes its true, the hotel is very near the main walking Street. However, you're better off sleeping on said street. We checked in for a total of 15 mins. That was enough time needed. Our "suite", and I use the term liberally, resembled the steerage room on an old ship; small, dank, and full of condoms. The condoms were on a convenience store style display, I'm assuming to give you a choice to use on whatever hooker youre bringing back - assuming theyre willing to set foot in Such a place. The "king" bed fit 1 small child or 1\3 adult. Rooms are cleaned after 1 pm based on our trashed room that we checked into. One would hope that the maids use a flame thrower. Room was roughly the size of a prison cell. However, room was not as nice as previous point. Beware of pickpockets: not nessessarily on the street, but on the elevator - they have ample time to rob you, since it stops on every floor for no apparent reason... We attempted to voice our concerns to the front desk who merely offered to send the maids to our cell block. They attempted to pursuaid us that all king beds are 5ft x 5ft and that rooms with windows are "deluxe" suites and can only be booked through the hotel. If you're looking to stay in the area - try anywhere else...

1) Сначала, до заезда, сняли половину суммы. Когда мы приехали, ещё раз затребовали полную сумму, так как якобы те деньги были просто заблокированы , и они вернутся. Сейчас прошло уже 10 дней, деньги на карте не появились. Когда подходила к работникам, сказали, что долго будут идти. Это очень неудобно;(((( да и вопрос стоит открытый: придут ли деньги 2) Очень старая ,провонявшая куревом гостиница. В номерах старая мебель, отходящие от стен обои, треснувшие поверхности в ванной. Хотя курить нельзя, кто-то курит в номерах, и через вентиляцию идёт запах. Пришлось даже номер поменять 3) Мы брали стандарт с окном. В таких номерах окна выходят только внутрь двора, поэтому всегда было темно (получался колодец )

Расположение очень удачное, остальное плохо.

Грязь в номере ужасная! Волосы от предыдущих гостей разбросаны по номеру и по всей ванной. Тараканы!

Расположен в центре. Пешком до метро минут 5.

Грязный старый отель! В номерах тараканы!!! Везде на полу волосы и пятна!
