Management does not honor simple requests
The text-message system in advance of arrival is great. It's too bad management will not honor simple customer requests - especially when they are made well in advance of arrival.
I requested a ground floor room well in advance of my arrival day & time because I always have a lot of heavy stuff to carry into my room. I arrived late (8:30 pm) because of a big snowstorm that delayed me significantly and they put me in a second story room instead (apparently because they were close to being full.) So, I had to make 6 trips up and down some very slippery steps to haul all my stuff to the room. Had it not been for this ONE MAJOR FAILURE I would have given good or excellent marks across the board instead of mediocre scores across the board. Here is a strong suggestion to management: Comply with simple customer requests if you want happy customers and good reviews.
A good facility at a great value !
I was very surprised that the room I stayed in (a Superior King) was as good as it was, especially for the price I paid (far less than I pay for rooms that are considerably worse than the one I had at this facility.) This hotel is an older one (this is obvious from looking closely at the exterior) but the rooms have been remodeled from top to bottom - and the one I had was really great. It was large-everything worked-the bed was comfortable-the bed linens, shower & towels were all good-the big TV (37" flat panel) was also great- and there were plenty of outlets to recharge all my gadgets. This room also had a safe, microwave, refrigerator, iron and ironing board. It was very quiet too, even though I was facing the highway, which is always busy.) I especially liked the separate work area - plenty of room to spread out your work items, good lighting, a comfortable chair & and lots of electric outlets.
Nothing. I will definitely use this facility again - if I can get it for the same price I paid on this visit (just less than $50). If I can't, I'll try one of the many other hotels located only a stones-throw from this one. It appears from the comments that other guests at this hotel had experiences worse than mine-so either I got really lucky - or those other reviews are too harsh and less than honest.
