Double beds are hard on tall folk.
Great and Bad things all in one
Love the location and the Carousel bar. Love the history and the feel of the hotel.
Our room air was very loud and the shower sprayed water up into the ceiling light which could have caused harm to us.
Beautiful quiet hotel
Hotel Monteleone is beautiful and the perfect location, but even during Mardi Gras season it was a very quite hotel. Not the perfect place to stay if you're more looking for fun, but a great place for a romantic getaway or for business. Fantastic staff.
French Quarter hotel
Great location within the French Quarter. Very beautiful hotel and nice staff.
When we checked in they told us our room had no windows and offered us 2 drink vouchers and the opportunity to "upgrade" for $100 a night. We did upgrade and got windows looking straight into parking garage. Crazy bar scene off the lobby.
Celebrated our 10 year anniversary, enjoyed every minute of it!
Pool was awesome, Carousel Bar was amazing, staff was top notch. Criollo was a very tasty restaurant. Location!
Limited channels on TV cable, wifi was a little slow, other than that, very nice
The location is excellent
I thought the hotel looked a bit run down, not a 5 star hotel.. I did not like the fact that there was no complimentary coffee or news papers The coffee was available in the gift shop for $3.00+ / cup. Not acceptable for a supposed top flight hotel, Forget trying to get a seat at the famous Carousel bar, but it was the first weekend of Jazz Fest.
room # 944 is a bit too small
Beautiful hotel, great location, excellent customer-facing staff
Friendly doormen, bellman, front desk. Love the gracious old hotel. Criollo's Restaurant had excellent food and service. One could not ask for a better location as a base of operations for leisurely tour of French Quarter.
While I don't think most rooms fit this category, we happened to get a very small room with window looking across a dark alley. Room could not have been more than 12' square, with king and furniture closet, one could not help but feel a bit claustrophobic. Be sure to ask for room with street facing widows. Housekeeping kept forgetting essentials - like TP. Had to call to request and then wait 15 min for delivery. Otherwise, excellent experience.
Location was great, room was nice and hotel was beautiful.
They didn't tell us in advance we wouldn't have a window in our room. Also the bathroom was pretty small. There is just not much room to set anything down.
Gorgeous hotel with tons of history. Fairly priced and it's in the perfect location- close to everything, bourbon street, jackson square, casino, etc. Will be staying again!
Great hotel at a great location
The location is right in the heart of the French Quarter just a block off Bourbon Street and on the classier Royal Street. The décor is beautiful. The rooms are small but nicely decorated. The drapes were incredible. The cafe are the hotel was very good for breakfast with beignets as good, if not better than Cafe du Monde without the crowds.
The walls were fairly thin so you could hear your neighbors. Also, nearly got high from the marijuana fumes seeing through the air system.
Issues not resolved
The hotel and staff are beautiful and amazing. But when we got to our room it was fairly warm. We called down to the concierge and asked that someone come look into the issue. We left for the afternoon and when we returned there was a note sarying someone had come to fix the problem. Two additional requests later and it was still around 80 in our room. Staff didn't even call to see if we were satisfied (after 3 requests). Difficult to sleep and not enjoyable.
I liked its atmosphere of a first class european hotel, the very good taste shown in the decoration of the room as well as the elegance of the reception area.
During our stay the used soap and shampoo were not replaced when the roorm was made,
This hotel has the perfect location for a tourist travel in New Orleans, one street away from Bourbon street and a few blocks from Jackson square. The Hotel has also the best house keeping I ever had in the USA. They really think of everything.
Unfortunately breakfast was not included in the price although this could easily be foreseen.
The hotel location was fantastic walk out the door to all the restaurants, night life etc., Bathroom very clean. Great Bar down stairs. The Old world charm of this Hotel is really nice.
Top notch hotel and facilities. The front desk clerk could have been nicer, but overall it was a great stay.
We had a bad problem with people smoking on our floor and it was a non-smoking hotel. I complained several times but the staff did nothing except spray air freshener. I came home with a sinus infection from all the second-hand smoke.
Wished we could have checked into room right away when we arrived. Still, hotel did make a real effort to have the room available within a couple of hours.
hotel was really nice . valet parking was not so good it took 30 minutes to retrieve my car.
The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The location is excellent; within easy walking distance of dozens of restaurants, Bourbon Street, art galleries, grocery stores, even a drug store 1/2 block away.
the staff should learn how to smile and be friendly with their customers.
