Плюсы: Though not a religious person, I enjoy the vibe of staying in a religious facility every so often and found it particularly interesting to stay overnite with the order of which Saint Bernadette (who had a vision of Our Lady of Lourdes) was a member. The staff was very friendly, the location in central Nevers was good, the room was clean and comfortable, and the price was fair. Having free, secure parking inside the gates was a plus; and a visit to the Saint Bernadette Museum on the grounds was included, for which the general public is charged a nominal fee. Though there was only one restaurant open in town for a Monday evening meal, L'Agricole was a casual spot with good food and friendly staff.

For those from the Catholic tradition, being in the very monastery where St. Bernadette Soubirous lived as a nun is a great bonus, plus the chapel in which she is interred. There is also a wonderful museum on the grounds detailing her life and her spiritual encounter. The hotel is very near town, the rooms are modest, the staff is super friendly. I heartily recommend the place!

Плюсы: the hotel was very good in did but the food was fantastic, so much that we had planed to have lunch at the hotel and would have dinner in one of the top 10 restaurants in Nevers but we did not, we have had both Lunch and Dinner in the hotel because the food, especially the meat, was so fantastic !

Плюсы: The proprietor, Michel, is a thoroughly helpful and good-humoured host. He runs a simple and meticulous hotel, located conveniently for parking, and a short walk, a few minutes, through the Parc Roger Salengro to the city centre. A pleasing and varied breakfast is served in a delightful conservatory next to the garden. Nevers itself is a good, less obvious, halfway point for those of us driving from the chilly North to the South of France and Catalunya (or back). I always emerge relaxed for the onward journey.
