location was a good one - but well we reserved this place because of the fact of this location

When we arrived to the sleeping place (2:00 am in the morning) the reception (which was supposed to be 24/7) did not answer our phonecalls and door ringning. Luckily, my partner struggled the hotel front door and we entered the building and arrived to the reception door where again we spent long time calling, knowcking and ringing the doorbell. After a long while a reception person appeared at the door with very unhappy face that we woke him up in the night and telling us the reservation was done for 15th Oct not 14th and there is a problem for us to get the room. Having shown him the printed booking reservation he finally gave us the keys to the room. Knowing that we will be arriving late in the night I have emailed the hotel to pre-empt that we will be arriving at 2:00am due and they confirmed this is not a problem and they will be waiting for us. Well, this was not what happened. The next day, after spending whole days sightseeing in Lisbon we arrived again to our room in the very late evening and was informed that out belonging were moved to the other room in the meantime! The hotel stuff moved our belongings without any notice or information to us- without any phonecall or email. This is highly unacceptable! When we asked the reception people on the reason of that, they told us the appartment that we were located in during the night was not a standard that we payed for therefore it had to be made empty for another guest. Appartently this appartment was given to us by mistake by a sleepy reception staff. I understand mistakes can happen however moring out belongings without any pre notice or our acceptance is something that cannot be done! I dare say this is illegal. When, we tried to complain to the hotel stuff about the situation we were told (in a very poor English) that speaking to the hotel manager is not possible, and the hotel stuff can only call tourist police to resolve this situation. Nothing was done to calm us down as the customers.
