Плюсы: We have stayed here several times before! The staff are helpful, kind, and funny, the kitchen is great, and they have a generous breakfast included. The lounge is large and comfortable and the building is full of interesting art and historical items. We were even lucky enough to catch two tanuki napping in the delightful internal garden. We’ve slept in three different rooms now, and they are all a joy.

Плюсы: Everything about this place and the host is amazing! Of all the places we stayed in Japan, this was by far the one that stood out the most. The house is very traditional and we loved the style. Don't be put off by the shared bathroom facilities, there's a sink in the bedroom and a completely separated, private shower. We received some great recommendations for where to go and things to do during our short stay in Miyajima and although unlikely we will visit again for a while, if we do we will certainly look to see if this guesthouse is available before anywhere else.

Плюсы: The owner is a very nice and helpful person. I was upgraded to a private room, apparently there were some cancellations and it was available. Getting a tatami room was really nice, plus the view was incredible. Don't think the "mountain view" means "not as good" - it was amazing. The shared facilities were clean and the lounge was comfortable. There are a lot of decorations, all very Japanese in character, which I found very homey and welcoming. This is a less expensive place so it is very do it yourself, and Miyajima has very limited options for late dinner or early breakfasts so keep that in mind.

Плюсы: Кроме заявленного, есть небольшой Онсен с обычной водой, но немного расслабиться помогает. Есть кофе и чай, молодой человек, который меня чекинил, говорил что-то и про завтрак, но утром я никого из персонала не нашла, обошлась кофе с видом на прекрасный сад из уютной общей комнаты. Матрас чудесный, одеяло тёплое. В общем, все понравилось. Кроме цены. Вот если бы один за такую цену в комнате, совсем бы претензий не было )

Плюсы: Right in front of the ferry terminal lies this wonderful hotel that we can highly recommend to everyone else. Our room was huge, beautiful and very clean. The onsen was wonderful and allowed for a fantastic view, including gorgeous sunset sight. When we arrived, there were free welcome drinks and ice cream :D . Dinner was buffet style with a broad and delicious variety of food (both local and more western) and an open bar with wine, beer, sake, plum wine, juice, ... The breakfast buffet was just as delicious. Fantastic value for your money, we can't wait to come back!

Hot springs are located on the last floor and have a stunning view on the coast. Both breakfast and dinner were awesome: a lot of choice, ingredients were fresh and of good quality. There was western style and Japanese style options, everything was delicious! Drinks were included in the dinner, again, a lot of choice (beer, wine, sake, ...). As usual in Japan, the staff was very kind, nice and helpful.

Минусы: The size of tables used to serve dinners and breakfasts for 2 persons is too large. And when covered with white table cloth, it gives an unattractive white expansive space. Cosiness of the dining room should be created with smaller tables, softer lighting and more appropriate music.

Минусы: The ryokan seems better to experience with more people, at least with a partner. The ryokan was not clean enough, as I could feel several small stones on the floor, so sleeping with those around the bed is not good at all. The bathroom is quite outdated.

Плюсы: This small hotel is located in the heart of Myajima. 2 minutes walk from the main shopping street and 5 minute walk to the famous Tori gate. It is spotless and is furnished with good taste. We had a room for 4, a family with 2 children, and the 2 joint bedrooms were separated by the sliding door. Bed, especially blankets!! we’re so comfortable. Shared bathroom and lavatory were not a problem. I never saw any other guests anyway, although the place was booked out. The lovely lady who runs the hotel speaks excellent English, is very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Thank you for your hospitality . The hotel is 8 mins walk from ferry. I would definitely stay there again!

It's location is great and we could see the Tori of the Itsukushima shrine from our Window. The food was great and the staff is very helpful. They also all speak English. The shuttle to/from the ferry is helpful if you come with heavy luggage.

As tattooed westerners we wanted to experience our own private ryokan and this suite gave us that opportunity and it was amazing. We were sad to leave and wish we had booked a longer stay.

Минусы: Nothing! It is very traditional so I didn't know what to do in some situations like wearing the clothes they provide you with around the hotel, but that didn't matter at all and the staff did their best to help with it!

Плюсы: A beautiful location on Miyajima Island! Everything about our suite was gorgeous, and the staff were extremely accommodating especially with our included meals. As tattooed westerners we wanted to experience our own private ryokan and this suite gave us that opportunity and it was amazing. We were sad to leave and wish we had booked a longer stay.

Плюсы: More hotel like than my other nights but friendly and well run, I stayed after a visit to Hiroshima same day which had been quite upsetting, so this beautiful place helped me get back into balance and I walked up the mountain (quite strenuous if you don’t use ropeway) next day which worked wonders for my spirits
Минусы: There was quite a walk from the ferry and I only found out but the free shuttle after I arrived, recommend a call because that walk with luggage is quite uphill

Плюсы: Nice hostel right next to the ferry station to Miyajima island. Not in Hiroshima but 30-40 minutes by JR train to Hiroshima station which is still a very okay distance in Japan. Excellent location if you plan to visit any sights on Miyajima island. Very good for 2 or 3 day stay. Staff is friendly and helpful and they seem to have events which we unfortunately did not have a chance to try as we were there at the beginning of a week in late November. This is probably why the hostel was quite empty and calm when we were there. Everything was clean and functional, however, some may not like the thin mattresses but I prefer those. All in all it is a nice place to stay and would definitely come back if I went to Miyajima again.

Минусы: The only downsides are the loud lockers in the rooms which might be inconvenient when the dorms are full and the lack of hangers and/or hooks to hang clothes in the rooms and in the bathrooms but that seems to be a global trend these days.

Location made it easy to view the Tori Gates at high and low tides (despite them being shrouded due to repair work).

I had a Japanese style room, I found the futon thin, so I set my bed using two futons and one duvet cover to make it more comfortable. I had a delicious lunch at the restaurant. Free shuttle bus service to the port.

Just ask the information point at the ferry port to call the hotel for you. They will also keep your luggage on the day of check-in and the day of checkout. Our booking was including dinner and breakfast, which I really do recommend. The food was great in taste and experience. They will ask you at what time you'd like to eat and will make sure that your meal is ready the moment you arrive at the restaurant.

Плюсы: The lady from the reception who checked us in and out was absolutely delightful. We stayed there the same day when the typhoon was hitting tokyo. She helped us plan out trip to the airport as we didn't have information about the public transport. She arranged for us to have a ride to the boat station. Thank you very much, we'll definitely be back :)

Плюсы: We reserved two different types of rooms for our large group. One had beds and a cool onsen tub and the other was more simple. Both were clean and comfortable. We loved wearing the provided Japanese robes. We were also able to use the outside onsen which was awesome. This location is perfect.

Плюсы: We were welcomed by the staff at this Japanese style hotel, invited to take our shoes off and pick out yukatas so we could comfortable in our room. They put our street shoes in the lockers at the door so they would be available when we wanted to go out. We had pajamas to wear as well. The best thing about this place was public bath for women. There is a separate one for men, too. The showers and baths were so clean and inviting. There is a terrace bath too. Equally as nice. This is the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate. There are massages available and saunas too. Japanese breakfast is delicious. This was a treasure!

Минусы: Its a bit of a shoebox, without any shared lounge or kitchen area. Its 10 miles from the city centre, links to which are good through the day but getting back from Heroshima later at night (after 10pm) proved tricky. If your travaling alone, hostels can be geat for meeting other travelers, swapping tips and making friends, simple stay didnt do this for me. I stayed for two nights, this felt like one too many!!
