Extremely helpful staff and the facilities were first class from room amenities to the gym. Location is great - easy walking access to shopping, tourist destinations etc
Service staff never made me feel like I was a bother. I loved the spacious and newly remodeled room we stayed in. Beautiful bump out bay window with breathtaking views of the river and Lake Michigan. Bathroom had very high end finishes, and also included a television in the mirror! The maintenance guy who tried to fix a broken bathroom light was using very profane language as he failed at repairing the light. However, this staff member's behavior scored us a free upgrade from city view - to river lake view - so it all worked out.
great accomodations and service
Our room was beautiful with a spectacular city view. Complete functioning kitchette which we did not take advantage of because we were only there one night but would have been great for a three day weekend stay. Staff was friendly and professional. We had a light fixture broken in our bathroom when we first arrived and they had it replaced and room service had cleaned the glass up in under 20 mins. Impressive for an operation this size. Within walking distance to many desired locations.
This is a great hotel the atmosphere that employees everyone was great there
The staff was extremely helpful with everything from directions to meal preferences. The quality of atmosphere was also very good. The decor and views from the hotel were better than anywhere I've ever stayed. The pool area was not on par with the essence or ambiance of the rest of the hotel, with the lack of hot tub areas and the extreme plainness of the pool area compared to the rest of the hotel.
Superior service and accommodations, personal at hotel far superior to any staff at any hotel!
Friendly, professional staff. Great accommodations. Perfect location. Especially liked the on-site dining options.
Nothing!!!! Because my credit card was charged twice for $1068.72!!!! And it absolutely ruined my trip!!!! My credit card was charged twice for $1068.72!!!! And it absolutely ruined my trip!!!! Also... When making my reservation through Booking.com, the Sheraton Chicago didn't have my reservation in their system!!! Booking.com had to fax over my reservation twice, hence the double charge on my credit card!!!!
Comfort and the attention of the reception employees. The location is also excellent. The room was not clean. I found a dirty glass under the bed. Besides, dirty plates remained for long hours in front of the doors of some rooms. I really hope it was an exception: that´s why I keep on recommending the hotel.
Was ok Thanks Dirty cutlery/plates left by the cleaning staff left in the passage for more than 24 hours.
The location was perfect! We were able to shop, enjoy the nightlife, and take in the Chicago Marathon. Everything was close by. The price was pretty high, but we stayed over Columbus Day/Chicago Marathon weekend so I guess that rooms were at a premium.
Additional price for fittness facilities ($12 per/person per day);Long-distance rates (over $10 per minute !!!), spring water provided in rooms - almost $6 per 1,89L bottle
It was a great location and the staff was very friendly. I spent a lot of time looking for a room that would comfortably fit 3 adults. I was traveling with my 19 year old daughter and my 67 year old mother. I specifically booked and paid for a "triple room". When we got to the room there were 2 small double beds. Not at all what I expected for 3 adults or for $400 per night. Be very aware of what you are actually getting for your money. This was not at all comfortable for 3 regular sized adults. I will say everything else was fine but I felt very ripped off for what we paid vs. what we got. I could have booked a regular room anywhere for much less.
Bed linens and beds were comfy. Motelish
I enjoyed the view of the Chicago River, watching the excursion boats, view of the Trump hotel.
Location of the hotel was close to downtown and many activities I would like wireless internet in guest rooms (for free)
I liked the central location of the hotel. I think the charge for internet-acces is ridiculous, the room-service sometimes took very long (1,5 hour) and they tried to charge me more than what I had originally booked for.
Spacious room Had to wait for my room Heating went into cooling so too sensitive and could not control to heat only. Bath tub did not drain well.
Location! Comfortable rooms. Rooftop bar is a nice place to hang out (aside from pricey drinks). Small elevator. The bathroom layout was weird, the shower stall was only half covered by glass, and the other half completely open. This combined with the shower head placement meant that the bathroom was completely soaked after anyone showered.
Really wonderful employees that made us feel welcomed and comfortable. They were very accommodating and polite.
Hotel was clean and staff was exceptionally friendly. Doorman was extremely helpful. Donut shop downstairs was delicious and convenient. The location was decent if you're willing to walk about a mile to anything you'd like to see. Room was a little small and elevator was extremely small preventing us from getting our stroller in if anyone else was in the elevator.
Great location just off the Magnificent Mile easy to get to just with everything you might need to downtown. When was nice but needed a few small maintenance items repaired other than that it was a great place to stay.
Great location with a nice hotel design. The drum bar and the bakery were nice perks. Its an older building and that is very obvious. The AC is questionable, the elevators are small and take quite a while, and if you want normal pillows you need to request them.
The location is excellent for whatever activity of interest in downtown Chicago. Attentive and courtesy staff
Very clean. Microwave and fridge nice to have. Close to shopping and navy pier Self park was really valet parking down the street.
Can't say a thing. I travel quite a bit every year and stay in dozens of hotels. I must say this was the worst experience at a hotel I have ever had. I would never suggest this place to anyone.
Great location and value...staff was fantastic, reacted to every need we had with a positive attitude and were very timely. nothing...we don't spend a lot of time in a hotel when we travel...met our needs perfectly
This is a Kayak review- not a hotel review. I booked my travel a week in advance and with 2 days notice I received a call that I no longer had a reservation and there was nothing that could be done. It left me scrambling to find a room and I had to pay 40% more than expected because I never really had a reservation. Will never use Kayak again.
Very nice updates to room and bathroom. Comfortable bedding, drumBAR on the 18th floor, and great location. Room was extremely hot and the temp could not be adjusted. The room was also very small but worked for our 1 night stay.
staff no common areas to relax in
Location is unbelieveable good walking distance to everything virtually. Bought a week long El ticket however only used it maybe 6 times in total. Staff were really nice and helpful. All in all very good hotel. Onmy down point was that there isn't a hotel bar but plenty of bars in the area so this isn't even a big problem
The central location was perfect for a city holiday. The concierge staff were extreamly helpful and efficient.
Rooms are very comfrontable and the front desk staff is amazing best customer service in the city. The location is great it's away from the busy tourists areas. The door staff could use some improvemment. When I arrived no one helped me with bags from the car. Several times I caught taxi on my own. The lobby is fun and trendy hoever the music should reflect the area hard work and 80's sounds were not very soothing. I expected boutique style or a mix of lounge beats.
Great Location stones throw from all the cool places. Shops, Sights, Eats . Etc etc..Complimentary Drinks every night 5-7pm plus munchies Great, Groovy helpful Staff. Lack of a Bar to drop in on. During the evening hours. Food from Harry Carays for room service was awful. The hotel was kind enough to comp us.
the breakfast was nice and the room was comfortable. Had no view from my room.
The location of the hotel was great. Nice clean. Wonderfully comfortable beds. I wish we would have known about the coffee maker tucked behind the glass frosted door under the TV.
the staff, the location, free breakfast the rooms are a little too small
Location!!! Super friendly staff. great breakfast that you can take back to your room in your pj's!!!! All good
Situated in a good area very convinient for shopping and buisness. I was not allowed a late check out as my flight was late evening.
The rooms were nice, but our room had not been properly cleaned. There was an empty wine bottle in the trash, a stain on the carpet, and dirt on the bedspread. The location is great for exploring the city. A block from Michigan Ave, the beach, and Rush street. The customer service was not good. We waited 30-45 minutes for our bags to be brought up to our room and finally had to go down to get them. There were two bellmen standing in the lobby doing nothing and our luggage was just sitting there. As mentioned the room was not properly cleaned which is never a good feeling when you are staying in a hotel. I requested a late check-out and was immediately told "No due to someone else staying in our room and they needed to clean it". He then asked what room we were staying in. He again said it wasn't possible as someone was staying in that room and they would need to clean it. When we checked out I forgot a brand new shirt I bought while staying there. I rarely hang things in the closet and had done so since it was a new shirt. I realized this the next day and called and again was given horrible customer service. They told me it was not in the room and that nobody stayed in that room the night before so they couldn't help me. Obviously, the maid who cleaned that room took it, but they accepted no responsibility for that. Not to mention they couldn't give us a late check-out due to another guest needing the room. It's a shame the customer service was so bad because it is a nice hotel in a great area of the city.
Sofitel is my new favorite Hotel.
My husband and I loved this hotel. We have stayed in several hotels on or near Michigan Ave and this was the best. The hotel is beautiful and is in the perfect location for us. A short walk to the subway, excellent restaurants along Rush Street and of course fabulous shopping. I will definitely stay here again even though it's a little more than I usually like to pay.
Swanky and chic hotel located in the heart of Chicago only steps away from shopping, great restaurants and all that the city has to offer. It's upscale, hip and a great value -- with a very comfortable bed to boot! What more could you want?
I would have preferred a discount on the Parking for staying in the hotel.
Clean room, good location, good food Difficulty of reaching the concierge by phone and having to listen to recorded advertising of the hotel while waiting
the room was wonderful - the bed and linens were superior
Fantastic location, close to the Magnificent Mile and Water Tower. The building is strikingly modern.
loved the architecture, nice view, price was great, good bar, convenient to lots of things in Chicago, usual helpful Sofitel staff . . .
Staff was excellent, they shipped me something that I left in the room immediately. Very clean, they even put a birthday surprise for my husband in room upon arrival. When you enter the main lobby there is no rest room, you have to take elevator to the 2nd floor. After traveling so long one needs to use the facility fast. Also parking fees a bit high per day, the hotel I stay at offers free parking to its guests
Located right in the Loop of Chicago, this hotel is only 2 blocks from the Blue Line train from the airport. Free WiFi if you are a Kimpton Rewards member (or if you sign up during your stay). Free wine social hour every night from 5-6pm. You also get a minibar credit if you are a rewards member before you check in. The front entrance was a little odd - the lobby is up on the floor above and not well marked. The view out the window in my room was a brick wall.
The 5:00 PM wine hour and the interesting decor. Most of the furniture in the lobby was cool looking but not comfortable to sit on.
I arrived early morning and was so glad to be checked in and didn't have to wait until mid afternoon. The cleanliness of the hotel was great. The staff was most accommodating. The on site restaurants were very good.
Clean! Beautiful! Wish the bathtubs were a tad bigger!
The staff was rude and disrespectful. The staff.
Very modern hotel. No pool
Everything was great!
Close to the El; convenient
location (1) the fact we provided them a different credit card to charge my bill and they said they were good and then I get my statement and they charged the original card after they said it wouldn't be charged. (2) the lines to check out were long and it took us over 20 minutes to just check out. (3) we were not made aware of the wine hour when everyone else we spoke to was. Overall experience was not the best and the purpose of our visit was to find location venues for an upcominng tradeshow - I think if we would have made them aware we would have been treated much better.
The location. My wife and I went to see the Phantom of the Opera playing next door at the Cadillac Palace. I can't say enough about the convenience of having the hotel next door. no having to walk blocks to our vehicle. Walked down the sidewalk and into the hotel, was able to avoid the cold Chicago weather. The Room. We stayed in Room 405. Our view out of the 2 windows, the first was a brick wall, the second, an alley way. At about 2am, for some reason the windows decided they wanted to bang against the frame endlessly, not allowing neither my wife or I to sleep. The bed was definately not a King Bed, and for it being a Premier Room, I would have expected the bathroom to be bigger than the size of a closet. I can't say I wouldn't stay here again, but would want to see the room before check-in.
The room was perfectly sized and extremely comfortable. Not a single thing.
Some may not like the smaller rooms (especially baths) but this is a very nice boutique hotel. They have done an excellent job of refurbishing a grand old building and the ambience captures the imagination. We loved it and would stay again for the good rate we got through booking.com No coffee machines and no coffee in lobby, but a coffee shop on the corner that was open at 5am.
I've stayed at several nice hotels in Chicago and this is by far my favorite. Very comfortable, tastefully decorated, incredible A-V/home automation controls. This was the perfect home-base for a multi-day business trip. The atrium also had a splendid Sunday brunch with string quartet. Couldn't be better
I would guess that most people who gave this place a positive review have never stayed at trump. For the same price trump offers a vastly better experience and much more comfort. The gym and spa at trump make this place look like a spa from rural Cambodia. Rooms were an ever so slightly better version of the Conrad. No pillow menu. No glacier water. No espresso machine in room. No microwave or stovetop with dishwasher( all present at trump). And no cake with gold leaf on it for my birthday!!!
Great location across from Saks and neiman marcus. Hotel gorgeous, bright, elegant in public areas, very comfortable and luxurious room and bathroom
Really enjoyed how friendly everyone was towards us especially since we were a young couple there and the staff told us good morning and everything each day and always had a smile on their face I can't really say I didn't like anything about the hotel or service. The only thing was it was a little expensive for us. Other than that everything was excellent
Beautiful room. Inpecable service
EVERYTHING, THE SERVICE WAS THE BEST AND THE BATHROOMS LARGE AND BEAUTIFULLY DONE. NICE TOUCHES EVERYWHERE! NOTHING
I liked the location of the hotel, and also enjoyed the updated decor of the hotel. The bedding was excellent! Very important to me.... it was clean and luxurious. The bath rooms also were in excellent condition. It did meet my standards. (Extremely picky) I did not like that we had to go to the 12th floor to get to reception.
It was an elegant, comfortable weekend at one of the best hotels anywhere. Nothing
Beautiful hotel, very enjoyable. Neither Booking com nor the hotel warned us that a change in the reservation, leaving a night earlier, would result in an increase in the quoted daily rate. We were only told that cancellation was required 24 hours in advance without penalty.
I took my 5 year old to see Chicago. I love the quiet of the hotel. The staff was great. You get what you pay for.
Fabulous service, fabulous food, fabulous room. I can't recommed this hotel highly enough!!
Hotel has great location, very nice accomodations. There was broken glass in the bar and I cut my finger pretty badly on our first night at the hotel. Although hotel staff was very nice and they did call security, I thought they could have done more in way of compensation. In hindsight, I probably needed stitches and other than call to my room by the manager (who had already left by the time we got back to the room), they really didn't even follow-up.
Great restaurant recommendation and service!
The bed is gorgeusly confortable Many problems with shower, room cleaning, front desk attendece, etc.
Location! And they left a small treat for my child every afternoon.
Comfortable, elegant, convenient excellent accomodations. Food very good but somewhat overpriced. The hotel tower is very tall and our initial room on the 40th floor was very noisy in the wind and rain storm. The swaying was not noticable but the sound of creaking wall and ductwork was uncomfatably loud. The staff did move us to a lower floor to a large apartment suit which was very quiet.
They had absolutely no trace of our reservation on arrival, but after some spirited discussion more than made good the upheaval.
Very good welcome and staff performance An elevator alarm went off in the middle of the night and it took over one hour to fix it - not conducive to comfortable sleep.
Location/spa and swimming pool None
when I make check out from the hotel they told me i have to pay more than what booking website show me,after desscution they agree to refund 110 $ to me.
Very good location.
