Well located to get around the city center and clean and comfortable . Staff we had contact with very pleasant Cost of parking
The staff. All were polite, efficient, very well trained and took the time to make you feel welcome - despite being busy. They took a pride in their job. The sound proofing in the basic rooms was not very good, so if you wanted to sleep on a bit in the morning it would have been very difficult. We were there to make the best of a couple of days in Bath, so it suited us.
The city of bath is fantastic Nothing
Modern decor Thin walls and doors.
View Poor ventilation. Room needed a little tlc
location initial confusion about reservation
Reception staff and parking facilities I was extremely dissapointed by the qaulity of my room, the cleanliness and general condition of the facilities. The hotel is out dates and far beneath what I would expect from the Hilton brand. I stay in hotels all over the world and this simply does not measure up on any level.
The location in the city centre couldn't have been better. Nice views of the river from the restaurant. Helpful staff.
Absolutely abysmal It took 35 mins to check in because your company fax the reservations through on Saturday morning to an unused office that nobody on the check in desk knew anything about
Convenient location for Bath amenities. We were going to Theatre Royal, and the Hilton is just a 5 - 10 minute walk away We were attracted by the Parking under the hotel - and this was easy to find. We were not told it would cost us £17 however !
Clean and roomy. Nothing!
close to city centre we booked a double room, but the double bed was two single beds put together.
Comfortable, clean surroundings. Delicious breakfasts, very helpful staff. Not exactly a 'dislike' however bathroom windows could have done with a roller/roman blind - just to give a more 'finished' and less cold, look.
Staff Little over priced
A great guesthouse, looked exactly how it did on the website, safe parking in the public car park behind and ideal for walking into town. We were greeted by friendly staff and the room was very comfortable and stylish.
closeness to city room was a little smaller than expected
Friendly clean comfortable helpful Parking expensive
Prolific hot water, baths/showers at any time. Comfortable, clean room. Quiet room at rear of hotel. Proximity to town centre and car park very good. Lovely choice of breakfast items. Friendly, welcoming proprietress. Would have preferred breakfast to be included in the price.
Great room, great staff, great breakfast in a very good location. Stayed in four different hotels on this trip and the Brooks was far and away the best.
a very friendly guest house Michael was very helpful and had lots of advice about the area
Sally was always happy and helpful. I left my purse on the train from Bath and the station in Cardiff called the B&B to let me know they had it. Sally was very helpful with the problem and helped a lot.
Only about 3-4 minute walk to the centre of Bath, nice and central the sink was not in the bathroom it was next to the bed and the room that we were in sloped inwards to were only able to use one side of the bed. The bathroom fan in the room next door was loud at night as well (midnight)
Good location. Clean and everything worked Not always staff at reception and had to call out for them. Did not have our booking when we arrived and staff had to sort it out which took some time.
Hotel is in great location for site seeing and getting around Bath.Hotel room was very nice. Concierge and desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice. Buffet selection was impressive especially with the additional made to order options. The breakfast staff was so wonderful that they even served me when I mixed up the times and arrived late. They were very professional and friendly. The walls were thin and I could hear everyone passing by in the hallway, but earplugs solved that issue.
The standard of service staff were very helpful . Location is brilliant a very short walk takes you into Bath and most importantly a comfortable bed. All was fine.
Central location Not enough parking space
The convenience of being in the centre of Bath Rather challenging parking
pleasant and helpful staff cleanliness location creaking floorboards early morning plumbing noises
Good location for visiting bath on foot. Warm welcoming hotel. Comfortable bed. No menu available in room, no mention of breakfast cost, consequently we did not eat in the hotel.
We enjoyed our stay with you. The staff were wonderful, the room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was fabulous, so much to choose from. We will definately return. Just a few things. The room was a little cold, not enough chanels on the television (mostly childrens channels), it was quite noisy at night, but we live in the country so just not used it...the decor was a little dull in the room and the shower (as it so very often is in hotels) was not very powerful at all. These are not complaints, just our views.
Needs updating. Its in a prime location but needs to improve to make people come back. We wont return
the proximity to local places of interest. The room was spacious with old fashioned tasteful furniture and a flat screen television. I didn't like the poor state of the decor in the public areas and the room.I also did not like coming back to my room to find the door unlocked and wide open
Central Location and easy to access. Slow and poor dinner service in the evening and regrettably staff that did not listen to actual service requests. English language difficulty perhaps and if so training is needed.
The view from the room, breakfast and staff/owners
The hotel was absolutley fantastic, the staff were so welcoming and hospitable. They went out of their way to make you feel at home. We are going back hopefully in the summer. no.
Breakfast was fantastic, a really wide range of good quality foods. The beds were very comfortable. No
It was a very beautiful building with plenty on offer and in a great location, either a 3 minute taxi ride (approx £5) or a lovely walk along the river into the city centre. The beds were all very comfortable and the continental breakfast was lovely. The whole building was extremely hot and our ensuite bathroom had very poor ventilation so it made our whole room very warm. The additional charges for cooked breakfasts seemed a bit steep...£8.50 for an English Breakfast, £6 for scrambled eggs on toast! I was also a bit disappointed that our family room did not have a four poster bed as mentioned on the website but the room was still lovely.
This is a beautiful hotel. Sue and Toni made us so welcome and we did not want to leave when the week was up! We cannot recommend this lovely hotel highly enough!
Confortable rooms and friendly staff
Friendliness and nothing too much trouble Chef not on duty first night was disappointing.
The staff were really helpfull and nice and the continental breakfast is a total highlight. No point in paying extra for the cooked stuff! Considering the beautiful setting and the perfect decor in the common areas, we found our room to be too full of bulky furniture and you could certainly spot signs of a sub-standard decorating job. Also, considering the room opened into a terrace area I would have liked to have thicker nets in the frenchdoors and frosted windows in the bathroom for privacy. As it is, you have to choose between no privacy or artificial light!
Very impressed with hotel location was good for bath!
Warm and homely
the proprietor was very welcoming and the location good. It would have been a lot easier if the website address mentioned that crescent gardens are actually on old bristol road as I had great problems finding the guest house. by choice I would not share a large table at breakfast.
The owner was very helpful and could give dining recommendations and events to see when asked. The environment was very friendly and welcoming.
Warm welcome, everywhere very clean and very comfortable bed. The local car park is convenient but very expensive. The guest house have permits but you need to collect this before parking the car.
Food ok Had to pay for 2 nights we could only stay 1 night as I had bad tooth ache absess under tooth was on antibiotics from dentist so had to go home early but still made to pay full amount!!
Friendly staff; clean room; nice breakfast. very cramped; shower did not work properly.
nice hotel, comfy, slept well.the manageress went out of her way to help out and the breakfast was excellent. Everything was ok.
Excellent breakfast in dining room at large family table. Service was very good and staff was friendly and helpful. As it was quite warm while we were there, we had to keep the windows open at night and the main street is quite noisy, especially on weekend nights.
staying at the crescent was an experience that I will have again, as i intend to use the crescent again in the near future, the house was spotless, rita was welcoming and the food was second to none would recommend it to anyone. nothing!!
Warm and comfortable... little pricey...
Warm welcome very friendly and helpful owner, excellent breakfast, convenient for the town centre and places of interest Room rather small
location, lovely building, view from our window
Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful and keen to make you feel welcome. Felt like home from home. Liked being able to see in to the kitchen at breakfast, log fire, excellent breakfast, beautiful room, central location.
The staff were very efficient and pleasant both when we arrived and for breakfast the next morning - we enjoyed our stay although very short!
we found the staff very welcoming and helpfull . we have no complaints about this hotel whatsoever and look forward to stopping there again .
Close to city centre Rooms were very small for price. The smallest rooms I've ever stayed in and not worth the price of the room. Parking was an issue.
The location is very convenient for visiting the historic sites of Bath, and the parking is very easy Our room was on the top floor. As there is no lift the climb up the stairs could be challenging to anyone with mobility problems
Staf very friendly, great location for city centre and room quiet and comfortable.
top class, all the staff were so helpful and friendly, great breakfast
We stayed in the Princess Suite and it was beautifully decorated, as was the rest of the hotel. The staff were fantastic, helpful, polite and sincere. The parking permit made things a lot easier and was value at £8 a day.To top it off, the bathroom had heated flooring! A brilliant hotel located in the centre of Bath - shops & eateries are 30seconds away.
It was comfortable, well equipped and friendly. Also nice and quiet. It has lots of stairs which may not suit everyone, but I liked the exercise and the fabulous view from the top.
The staffs were very pleasant ranging from the receptionist to the kitchen staffs who serve the breakfast. Unfortunately the cleanliss of the place wasn't up to expectation. In the wardrobe ther was a shirt belonging to the last guest. The room was on the chilly side on arrival although it didn't take long to warm up.
Small and friendly hotel with parking on site. Near to city centre and attractions in Bath. We were allocated a room upgrade on arrival.
Clean, quiet, parking, friendly staff, good price, great breakfast.
Awesome staff. Good breakfast. Good location. Highly recommended.
Very comfortable fittings and friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast was also of a high calibre.
An excellent guest house- top quality all round
The hotel was as comfortable as being at our own home. The staff treated us like family.
Very charming hotel with good selection of differing room requirements (e.g. double, tripple, twin etc). Excellent breakfast included. Lots of attention to detail. A park and ride bus nearby but best to drive to the carpark in case of bad weather. Lovely couple running the B&B. Would highly recommend.
Very impressed wiyh every thing about the hotel. Friendly, clean and comfortable. Very good cooked breakfast. Superb bathroom.
Its a 30min walk into the city. There is however a bus that stop outside the hotel
Everything was well thought out- ranging from the decor to the atmosphere. Some really clever touches made our stay personal yet unintruding. Highly recommended!
Well within walking distance of city centre warm welcome very attentive staff
Good service and food and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly A little expensive for a B&B but it was in Bath which is expensive, so not a great issue
Quiet location and friendly staff
The room and the general facilities were excellent. The owners were helpful and friendly. Car parking, both on and off site, was very limited. The hotel was about one and a half miles from the city centre, although taxis and buses were plentiful.
we liked the very well presented room, with the 4 poster bed, breakfast was cooked to order and was very quick and tasted nice. would stay again as owners were very friendly.
Very comfortable, warm and clean. Lovely breakfast with s good choice. On site parking isnt good. Best to park on the road outside.
Quality of accommodation, Victorian building and features but with modern comforts and facilities, good breakfast quality and choice.
Friendly staff, good breakfast, large room and bathroom, off street parking. Tired decoration in bedroom & bathroom. Noisy bed and neighbouring room's bed too. More than just a walk into Bath Centre.
Staff was Wonderful felt like family. Room/bed very confortable, nice size and cozy and relaxing and quiet. Breakast was wonderful, bus stop across street e-z to get to city centre.. wonderful!
Very friendly staff. Brilliant central location.
I like the modern decor in the hotel. That the car park was about a 5-10 walk away from the hotel.
Modern but not overpowering. No surprises. Everything was as stated in the information provided in the website. The stuff was very friendly and informative. Overall, a very good experience. Will definitely use this hotel again
staff were friendly and the rooms were clean and nice. there are many stairs and no elevators and this was a little difficult for my parents to navigate with their luggage
bacon and scrambled eggs at breakfast - excellent!!!! Very good coffee, too. Room felt like home from home - quirky, spread out on several levels so didn't feel claustrophobic despite being quite small. V. helpful reception staff. Would have liked food service beyond c.9pm as i was working late.
The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The location was brilliant. Small but comfortable, well furnished rooms. It was a bit hot in the room but I just adjusted the heating and opened the window for a bit. A little street noise overnight.
The staff were all very nice and friendly. The hotel is very close to the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases, which is why we chose it. My wife is an outpatient at this hospital, and disabled. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful. The beds were comfortable too.
The hotel was really central, the rooms were super clean and well presented, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really good.
The bathroom was a good spec. Good to have sky movies Nothing - good value for the price
Everything Bed was somewhatr soft, causing damage to back
The breakfast was marvelous. The building is older, so the floor creaked every time someone stpped on it. Consequenetly we heard noise all night long. There was construction going on in the hotel that we as a guest had to inconvenience ourselves for. I did not think the staff really cared about what we had to deal with.
Room was a bit cold
Very close to centre of Bath Very noisy at night, I couldn't sleep due to the noise from outside.
Convenient location, breakfast, bedroom equipment Wireless internet connection was limited
The welcome , the service , the location , the comfort. Lack of parking at the hotel . Public parking , although near , added to the cost of my stay .
We liked the cleanliness of our room and accessibility of the hotel from the train station; the breakfast very good too. We asked to get a wake up call in the morning from the front desk staff but we woke up late precisely because there was no wake up call programmed to help us wake up.
Convenient for railway and bus stations and within walking distance of sights in Bath. One or two members of staff appeared a little abrupt but otherwise found staff very helpful and courteous. It should be pointed out to customers on website that if paying in cash there are some restrictions e.g. unable to charge items to room and paying up front.
The quality of the traditional English breakfast was very good and the chefs produced a range of imaginative recipes for dinner including vegetarian. The dining room was more tranquil than most hotels. There was a difficult parking situation in the area. Shower was cold in the evening.
Staff were very friendly and the hotel was well positioned Untidy cabling in the room.communal corridors weren't attractive
The lamb was excellent
Pleasant situation and very helpful polite staff. Convenient for sightseeing and a relaxed atmosphere. The food was good and well presented. No flannels available in the bathroom.
The room was spacious with a lounge area that opened out to the garden. The spa was lovely, it is a great hotel for relaxing as it is very quiet but right in the centre of Bath which means you can walk everywhere. The food service was very slow and the bathroom could have done with being updated.
Extremely comfortable in rooms and lounge. Spa was very relaxing . Service was excellent. Hotel was beautiful. Breakfast very good. Could be more relaxation chairs in the spa, although there is not much room.
the location and facilities were superb ! No !
small room to much furniture old t.v which did not work
The service was excellent, making for a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Not applicable
The friendly and helpful staff, the quietness and the beautiful surroundings both interior and garden. The only disappointment was that whilst a private function was being held in the restraunt area we had to go through from the spa in our robes. When my husband sister and her husband went to the bar for a drink we had to sit tighly packed into a corner. We did not feel like guests, but more that we were in the way!
My room was very small, i don'tthink i had the nicest room in my price category.
The location of the hotel was spot on. It was close enough to everything we required without being smack bang in the middle of the hustle and bustle. The staff were amongst the most pleasant and helpful I have come across in some time. The Spa was disappointing and the reception staff were not particularly helpful. Albeit the treatments were amazing and the therapists very thoughtful and understanding.
The hotel itself is full of such beauty and is so breath taking from the outside, the staff were good and wwe had a wonderful meal there. I would have liked tea/coffee in the room rather than having to ask room service and the hotel room was a little shabby.
Friendly and attentive staff from the moment we arrived. Only ten minutes away from the City centre and lots of places to eat out during the day after a fantastic breakfast. Clean and tidy throughout. Could not fault it.
Charming little escape in Bath. The Staff are extremely welcoming. Tea and flapjacks on arrival in the study which overlooks the beautiful gardens. Breakfast was well cooked and plentiful Pillows were a bit on the flat side for my liking
Staff very welcoming and helpfull. Good choice for breakfast. Clean tidy welcoming atmosphere
we appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff as well as the comfort and peacefulness of the hotel. the breakfasts were great and we enjoyed the wonderful views across Bath.
Don't be put off by its position on the hill or roadside position. As soon as you walk inside the welcome is warm and friendly. A damp day meant a roaring fire was on in the sitting room and complimentary tea and coffee offered. The bedrooms were nicely furnished and had all would need. Views from the top rooms over Bath were lovely. Breakfast was delicious and served politely and efficiently by the lovely staff there. This hotel would be a beautiful setting for a wedding-shame I don't live nearer to Bath... And a groom! The only downside would be if you had trouble with steps or hills. Don't book if recovering from a hip replacement of find walking challenging.
The staff and the house and the lovely garden outside also brekfast was greate!
The guest rooms are lovely and I would recommend The Wheelwright Arms to anyone - this is the second time we have stayed and have enjoyed the room and food in the restaurant - very friendly and accommodating staff. Perhaps a bit pricey for one night but nevertheless a real treat!
the hotel room was very modern and well equipped, the staff were freindly and helpful and the evening meal in the hotel eas excellent the hotelroom was very cold when the heating shut off
The menu was a little restrictive and I struggled on the third evening to find a main course choice. The food and the service was excellent.
Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming; the food was excellent and the ambience was warm and relaxing. The room was spacious; luxurious and with a great tea selection! We had a wonderful few days away - Thank You
Just outside the city of Bath with good access by local bus or car. Poor quality bread i.e.sliced when served with olives and oil!
The locality, The whole atmosphere was very comfortable, The food was delicious,Our room was furnished perfectly, with lots of nice little touches such as the toiletries, bath robes tea and coffee maker and of course the spectacular views around.
Reception & evening meal were good No access to outside telephone line in an area where mobile signals were unobtainable without walking up the hill. Bedroom No 1,nice & roomy, but only one easy chair. Overpriced for the facilities, pleasant though it was.
peaceful setting.large clean room with very comfortable bed not enough tea/coffee in room considering cost. Dressing gowns unusable as still damp from wash.unaware that room was on ground floor - anyone could look into bedroom as they walked past , also wooden floors meant that we were woken very early by people walking in room above us.
Nice and quiet, very comfortable with all the refined touches you expect from a top class establishment. Wish I had been able to sample the full breakfast, I'm sure it would have been great. A bit pricey!
The location was very good. The food was good but quite expensive. There was only one chair in the room. Also there was only one small window that could be opened and that was overlooked by the kitchen. Because of this it was too hot in the room last weekend.
As a solo female traveller, it is important to feel safe at comfortable. Chestnuts was fantastic. The staff were all helpful and extremely friendly.Happy to go back.
I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. I loved everything about Chestnuts House - especially Tony, the owner. The room was lovely, the breakfasts were scrumptious and the location was perfect. It was a relaxing, charming place to stay. There was nothing that I wasn't happy with at Chestnuts House.
Friendly, polite and informative staff, who were there to meet us. The room was superb - we could not have asked for anything more. The breakfast was, quite simply, the best I have ever eaten. Highly recommended. NOthing bad to say about our stay.
Warm welcome, helpful staff, off-road parking, clean environment, wireless broadband in rooms, sky-tv in communal lounge, silent ceiling fan, varied tasty breakfast choices.
The high standard of the accommodation and friendliness of the proprietor, and its location.
Just a short walk to all the restaurants and shops None
Owner very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent multi choice breakfast menu with both hot and cold options. Impeccable service. Excellent standard of accommodation, furnishing and cleanliness. Absolutely none at all !!
It was a very warm and welcoming guest house, the orner could not of been more helpful with our requests ie we loved the pillows so have some on order, also put himself out to make sure we had all information we needed 4 a lovely stay n/A
Staff friendly and always willing to help over and above the paid for package and great location. n/a
The breakfast provided was excellent - good choice, quality and service nothing
There was a lot of noise from the nightclub downstairs. The noise didn't stop until around 3am. It is completely unacceptable to charge these rates when there is that level of noise.
When booking online, thank you for phoning to confirm the booking and schedule time of arrival. The staff were friendly and clear about the procedures upon arrival, and welcoming at breakfast time. I came to stay 1 night, before attending a wedding on the next day. The Bedside Browser book was excellent in content, and together with leisure brochures, I used my time to walk around South East Bath. I explored the Abbey, the shops in a few streets, the glass blowing shop, gardens and the river Avon. The room was in good condition for the evening spent watching bbc Comic Relief. Tea-making facilities and bar downstairs were excellent. The bed was comfortable for sleeping. Nice view from the window, onto the gardens. Because I was going to a wedding, I was surprised not to find ironing facilities. If available by asking, please state this in the Bedroom browser. The wardrobe smell was well polished, but thankfully this did not affect my clothes. Also the shower has a temperature control, but I could not find the tap switch for turning on the water. I may have simply missed it & could have appreciated instructions either in the Bedroom Browser or the room.
the staff were excellent , friendly and helpfull gotta say the room didn't quiet live up to the web site , bathroom and decor etc
Hotel is in a good location to all the sites. For the money I expected a much nicer room, it was a three star hotel with a four star price. The continental breakfast was very basic also. Overall I was very let down, I expected nicer.
Clean fresh, unpretentious and good value for money Top of bed under eaves meant I could not comfortably sit up in bed to read.
near every thing room lovely an warm no lift
The people the location the size of the room the breakfast was good location location clean, staff was great very helpful stay there again in a heartbeat Had to leave!
Excellent location, good breakfast, friendly staff
Friendly staff and located in the city centre. £70/night for a shared facilities (altough I was clearly said in the web), small room and worst of all... the view from the window was towards a wall that was... 40cm from the window! I felt like a prisoner in jail.
Excellent location, helpful staff, bar next door. I found mould in the kettle in my room, poor lighting in bathroom, fixed shower.
Perfect location, lovely building pleasant staff and adequate breakfast The noise between 12midnight and 3 am from the club downstairs was intolerable. We were on the 2nd floor and could still clearly hear every conversation which was such a pity as otherwise the hotel would have been perfect.
